A Pixar Movie solved my life long problem!
You heard that’s right! I spent 2 hours watching the new Pixar movie called “Soul” and voila! I have the answer to the question I’ve been asking myself for the last 27 years.
I have been struggling a lot to find my life purpose, my passion, my spark! What is the one thing I am destined to do in life? I was excited to explore, to find out the answer, figure out the reason I was born.
Twenty-seven years later, in life, I still don’t have the answer. I felt sad and upset at some points. I felt lost and unworthy. I’m jealous of people who get to live for their passion every day. That must feel amazing, I asked.
Maybe I’m not that exceptional. Perhaps I will never reach the answer to my purpose.
I keep telling myself. If I get to travel the world, I will be happy then. If I lose 20lbs, I will be happy then. If I have a strong, compassionate, loving relationship, I will be happy then. I stuck in the illusion of “future planning,” but not so much of “present living.”
“Soul” did not help me figure out my life purpose. “Soul” gave me an even bigger gift. The gift of life, the gift of “being.” The fruition of life we are all searching for is right in front of us. In the delicious food, we put in our mouth. The precious music we get to listen to, the beauty of simplicity in nature. “Life purpose” is not about what we do. It’s about who we are.
Our job, career, appearance can never fulfill you. Once you reached a goal, you crave more.
But who you are at the core is eternal. It’s forever. What we can do is merely enjoy life as it is. Happiness lies in the ordinary.
And one day, my dear, you will find those ordinary things become profoundly extraordinary.
My gift to you, don’t search for your passion, find passion in everyday life.
I love you dearly.
